Rupert Spira was no stranger to publishing when he approached Whitefox; as the author of numerous books on meditation and happiness, he had already sold over 100,000 copies worldwide and built a huge social media following too. But when he decided to publish an illustrated children’s book about navigating difficult emotions, he wanted to partner with a company that could help him craft a book that was as beautiful as it was inspirational.

As a ceramicist, Rupert valued being given full artistic control over materials and format, with Whitefox sourcing sample papers and book dummies and negotiating with printers across Europe. Following a strong sales campaign, demand on both sides of the Atlantic was so high that a reprint was ordered even before publication.
