Historian David Hargreaves studied at Oxford University and went on to become a teacher at Westminster School, where he was head of the sixth form. He is the author of both history titles and a novel. Dave Buonaguidi

Dave Buonaguidi has been a maverick of the advertising world for over three decades. He co-founded St Luke’s, the creative agency named ‘the most dangerous company on earth’ by Harvard Business Review, and Marketing Week Agency of the Year Karmarama, where he created the Stop the War Coalition’s iconic MAKE TEA NOT WAR poster. His illustrated business book, Blah! Blah! Blah!, is aimed at anyone who wants to make brilliant work and be happy doing it.

‘I always wanted to write a book, but I never had any idea of how to go about trying to make it a reality. I had lots and lots of blog posts, but they were a mess. The team at Whitefox were the unique combination of mentor, editor and sergeant major. Finally, it got written, and thanks to the great work by the editors and designers I actually held a copy in my hand, which made the long process of writing it so worth it.’

Monique Charlesworth

Monique Charlesworth was born in Britain but her work has a European bias. Fluent in French and German, she has written four acclaimed novels including The Children’s War, which was inspired by her mother’s wartime experiences. Her 2023 memoir, Mother Country: A Story of Love and Lies explores her mother’s life-long denial of her German and Jewish background.

‘I wanted Mother Country to be a beautiful object with the highest production values. Every stage of the process was managed with care and attention to detail. The editorial team was first-class and made a real difference. It was a particular joy to work with a talented designer, who completely got the brief. I recommend Whitefox wholeheartedly.’
