This VE Day we would like to spotlight The Sebastopol Project’s incredible upcoming book, On Courage: Stories of Victoria Cross and George Cross Holders, which whitefox project-managed through creation to publication.

A captivating collection of diverse and inspiring stories of valour during wartime, On Courage will be published by Constable on 17th May 2018. Pre-order your copy here.

On Courage was produced by the charitable endeavour The Sebastopol Project and co-authored by leading historians and authors Tom Bromley, Saul David, Paul Garlington, James Holland and Dr Spencer Jones.

The book features twenty-eight incredible stories of the courageous acts of men and women awarded the Victoria Cross and the George Cross. Each story is introduced by a public figure, including Mary Berry, Eddie Redmayne, Joanna Lumley, Jeremy Irons and the late Sir Ken Dodd.

A part of the proceeds from the sale of the £20 title will be donated to two charities to support current and former members of the British armed forces and their dependents: Combat Stress, the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, and The Victoria Cross and George Cross Association.

Constable publishing director Andreas Campomar said:

‘Bravery knows no rank: these outstanding people come from all walks of life, their heroism and self-sacrifice an example to us all. I am proud to publish their stories and, in doing so, pay tribute to these courageous men and women to whom we owe so much. It is wonderful to contribute to two very worthwhile charities and have the support of so many distinguished names.’
