Explaining History: From biplanes to the jet age – three decades in the RAF

For the past decade, the 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘗𝘰𝘥𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵 has been exploring 20th Century history on a weekly basis, helping students and enthusiasts engage with the past. In the episode titled 'From Biplanes to the Jet Age - Three Decades in the RAF', they interview Mark Aedy, son of Ken Aedy. Over the past two years, Mark has been compiling Ken's memoir 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘉𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘑𝘦𝘵𝘴, set to be published by Whitefox on June 13th.

But is it a Keeper?

Digital hasn't replaced print, just as print didn’t replace handwriting. And it shouldn’t ever be seen as some hand-to-hand combat or fight to the death anyway, but rather for what it is. A catalyst for new developments and manifestations of the creative imagination that we squeeze into that simple little word, ‘books’.

Hello Whitefox 2.0. The story of a rebrand by our Founder, John Bond.

The discussion began in the early months of 2012. Having decided what we did not want to call our nascent business, the somewhat more challenging task of creating not just a name but an identity hove into view. We knew we didn’t want a pun on books or reading, and we didn’t want some portmanteau blend of our co-founder names. Suggestions were made and rejected.
