David Hargreaves is an Oxford-educated historian who spent nearly thirty years at Westminster School as head of sixth form and boarding housemaster. Since 2014 he has divided his time between writing and running his education consultancy, DHC London. His published works include Bismarck and German Unification and the novel Under The Table, alongside articles for national newspapers and periodicals. He is also the author of As We Were, published by Whitefox in 2021.

About the book

David’s motivation for publishing As We Were stemmed from his deep academic commitment as a historian and educator, transforming his extensive online project documenting the First World War week-by-week into a comprehensive physical collection.
